BARC - Tech Night - Second Thursday 9 May 2019

BARC Tech Night will be held monthly on the 2nd Thursday at 7:00 PM and all members and guests are invited and encouraged to attend for an educational evening.

May Presentation: 9 May 2019
There will be a presentation on the Arduino ecosystem at 7:00pm at the BARC clubhouse. I'll be going over the Arduino hardware and the development software. We'll show you how to build and install some existing Arduino programs and some basics on how to write your own (or modify existing ones). There will be some open discussion, socializing and a chance to talk about your projects with other BARC members

June - Designing and building Matching Networks
July - Introduction to field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs)

These are open to changes, especially if someone would like to present a different topic.

Other topics I have on the backlog are:
- Soldering techniques (through hole and surface mount)
- Using lab gear (signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, antenna analyzers, etc.)
- How your radio works (meant as a first step to designing your own radio)
- Deep dive into the details of digital modes (at least RTTY, PSK31, and
FT8)
- Building an inexpensive and portable dual-band yagi (meant for satellite
comms)

The clubhouse is located at the former Sugarcreek Elementary School in downtown Bellbrook.
