A group of BARC operators setup at Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve to operate Parks on the Air last Friday, june 16. To prepare for the arduous mission, the group first visited Clifton Mill for a wonderful breakfast and social. We mainly operated just inside the park in the parking lot with Rob DeSonia, WS8M, finding a picnic table, Glenn Rodgers, KE8LZD, working our of his car, and John Westerkamp, W8LRJ, setting up his own table next to a clearing. We learned a great deal about POTA preparation as well as off grid operation and were joined by several other BARC members including Ray Hitt, N8VMX, Jim Gifford, KD8APT, Jim Totten, WA8HUB, Don Macon, KE8WVJ, Paul Sharp, WS8R, Jim Thomas, KE8UYC, and our newest member, Kerry Paul, W7KRY! A very enjoyable morning!
