October POTA Meeting

On October 4, a Saturday, we will hold our POTA meeting at Sackett Wright Park in Bellbrook. We are doing this for two reasons: 1) See how different members set up antennas, so if you are a person who operates POTA, bring an antenna to show and tell; 2) observe to hear how POTA parks are calling, listen to tell when to call in a pileup, and just talk about operating and recording each call in a program, such as HAMRS. You will notice the various cadence habits of various operators.

We will be at the same shelter we use for Field Day. I have it reserved all day. I’ll be there at noon setting up a radio and antennas. Understand this is not a POTA park where we can activate, but we can hunt and listen and learn. I plan to be at the park until about 5 pm. Let’s all plan on meeting at 1 pm for the actual meeting.

Bring your radio too to try out different antenna setups. This gathering will be a good time to attend if you have never worked a POTA.

POTA on!
