Article I — Name and Purpose
Section 1.1 — Name. The name of this organization shall be the Bellbrook Amateur Radio Club, hereinafter referred to as "the Club" or "BARC."
Section 1.2 — Purpose. The Club is organized for the following purposes: to promote interest in amateur radio communication and experimentation; to provide a means of communication in times of public emergency; to advance the art of radio communication among its members; and to maintain and foster friendship among amateur radio operators.
Section 1.3 — Affiliation. The Club shall maintain affiliation with the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) as a Special Service Club.
Article II — Membership
Section 2.1 — Eligibility. Membership is open to any person interested in amateur radio, regardless of license class.
Section 2.2 — Dues. Annual dues shall be set by the membership at the January meeting. Current dues are $25 per year for Regular members.
Section 2.3 — Membership year. The membership year runs January 1 through December 31.
Section 2.4 — Voting rights. Members in good standing (dues paid for the current year) are entitled to vote at membership meetings.
Article III — Officers
Section 3.1 — Elected officers. The elected officers of the Club shall be: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Section 3.2 — Terms. Officers shall serve one-year terms commencing January 1 following their election.
Section 3.3 — Duties. Officers shall perform the duties customary to their positions and such other duties as may be assigned by the Club.
Article IV — Elections
Section 4.1 — Schedule. Elections shall be held at the November membership meeting each year.
Section 4.2 — Nominations. Nominations shall be open at the October meeting and may continue from the floor at the November meeting.
Section 4.3 — Voting. Election shall be by voice vote unless any member requests a written ballot.
Article V — Meetings
Section 5.1 — Regular meetings. Membership meetings shall be held on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at the St. Pierre Education Center, Xenia, Ohio, or such other place as designated by the officers.
Section 5.2 — Quorum. A quorum for the transaction of business shall consist of ten (10) members in good standing.
Article VI — Amendments
Section 6.1 — Process. These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of members present at any regular meeting, provided the proposed amendment was submitted in writing at the previous regular meeting.
