Operating Afternoon at Ohio State Parks on the Air

The September Operating Afternoon will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2022, to coincide with the Ohio State Parks on the Air Event. We will operate from John Bryan State Park near the Mountain Bike Trail parking area just before the road that continues to the observatory. We will begin setting up anytime after 8 am. The OSPOTA goes from 10 am until 6 pm. Feel free to show up any time during that window and set up your antenna and radio or just enjoy the social activity. I have attached the rules for this year and the website is below.

This will be a learning event, too, so we will demonstrate how to use the spotting site to find a park on the air, how to work a park, and how to log it. Since many contacts will be in Ohio, NVIS antennas are best (an inverted-V with the middle at 15 feet or so).

Everybody should be self-contained and bring chairs, tables, and whatever snacks and drinks you prefer (no alcoholic beverages). We will provide some water and soda along with a lunch around 12 noon to 1 pm (details to follow).

Watch your email and the website for further details as we get closer to the event. This is our fall Field Day event that we hope to make a yearly social event so come on out and join us.
