Hello everyone,
Several members have asked for a repeat session and a chance to build on what we learned last time, so July’s Tech Night will focus on MeshCore. I’m also hoping to have members of the OKI Mesh Alliance join us — many of them are hams who have been actively working with these systems, and their hands-on experience will add a lot to the discussion.
Presentation: MeshCore: Growing the Mesh, One Node at a Time
Presenter: Bob, AC8ZU
Date & Time: Tuesday the 21st at 6:30 PM
Location: Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Schools Office Building, large meeting room
Address: 3757 Upper Bellbrook Rd., Bellbrook, OH 45305
I’ll kick things off with a shorter, updated version of my last presentation, then we’ll dig into:
– No Internet, Emergency Communication
– Node and repeater deployment, and where we need more solar-powered nodes
– Which radios make sense for different uses — there isn’t one single answer for everyone
– Repeater radio options: buy vs. build. Your feedback and real-world experience would be very helpful here, and there will definitely be questions
– A walk through of building a simple repeater or node
– Antennae Selection
– Battery safety
– How we can improve coverage around Bellbrook and link up areas to the southeast and south.

- Radio Vendors if no particular order (If your considering buying wait until after the meeting):
I expect lots of interaction. I may need to move on if it only affects a small part of the audience or the subject is going on two long. Its personal I just need to the conversation flow, well at least organized chaos.
Hope to see you there!

Bob AC8ZU
