This coming Sunday, February 6th, is BARC’s first “Operating Afternoon.” We will get started at 2 pm at the BARC clubhouse. This months operating activity will be a Parks on the Air (POTA) Activator hunt. For those not familiar with POTA, check out their website at www.parksontheair.com. You will find a lot of information about the program as well as links to the spotting website and instructions for registering your call sign if you want credit for your contacts in their awards program. For those that may be new to HF operating, I will have some example contacts printed out to act as memory ticklers. While this is a HF operating activity, you do not need to hold a General class or higher license.
