On Saturday, August 27, 2022, the Bellbrook Amateur Radio Club was able to break in the new communication center setup by participating in the Ohio QSO Party. The goals were to contact as many Ohio counties as possible and to be contacted by as many stations inside and outside Ohio as possible. Severn intrepid operators including Glenn Rodgers (KE8LZD), Jim Totten (WA8HUB), Tom McClory (KE8FWZ), Robert DeSonia (WS8M), Jim Thomas (KE8UYC), John Ferguson (N8FJ), and John Westerkamp (W8LRJ) worked five hours from noon until 5 pm and racked up over 8000 points with 139 contacts including 17 Ohio Counties and 41 States and Provinces. We all had a great time and really got to experience working a pile-up from the runner’s perspective after calling CQ!
