What a fun day and did we luck out on the weather! Twelve BARC members enjoyed a beautiful day at John Bryan State Park last Saturday for the first annual Fall Field Day. We arrived early, set up our antennas and radios, and were on the air at 10 am. Several members got to test out various homemade or purchased antenna configurations during the day. Tom McClory, KE8FWZ, took the prize with the most contacts followed by Rob DeSonia, WS8M. Overall, BARC members made 99 contacts with 36 different Ohio State Parks scoring 3564 points. Plus, we got to enjoy Dot’s Broasted Chicken and Lori Westerkamp’s Famous Potato Salad!
Special thanks to Glenn Rodgers, KE8LZD, and Paul Sushereba, WE8Y, for arriving early and bringing the generator and refreshments and setting up the BARC pop-up tent. I also want to thank my wife, Lori, for making the potato salad and picking up and delivering the Dot’s chicken.
