The clubhouse was open last Saturday afternoon, January 21, for the North American QSO Party, SSB edition. Five intrepid operators worked 10, 15, and 20 meters using the IC-7300 radios and the multi-band beam antenna. Three other members just visited to watch and learn more about working a contest and getting on the air with the BARC radio stations. There was plenty of food and refreshments during breaks where we discussed what we learned and what the next demonstrations should be. Several operators even made their first HF contact and one was a DX contact! We even made a contact with a local BARC member. All in all it was a very fun afternoon. W8DGN made 52 contacts and scored 1352 points. Not bad for about 4 hours of work on the radio!
