Little Miami Watershed Canoe Race

Operators from BARC provided communications support for the Little Miami Watershed Network (LMWN) Canoe Race this past Saturday, June 10. Stationed along the Little Miami River, BARC members called in bib numbers for the lead and trail canoe entries and monitored the safety of the participants. Thanks to Randy Allen, KA0AZS, and John Westerkamp, W8LRJ, who acted as Net Control for the race. Operators included Jim Lusk, KC8EFD, John Rawson, KE8HUV, Don Parker, KB8PSL, Ray Hitt, N8VMX, and Jim Totten, WA8HUB, Great job! And many thanks to Darryl Fowler, KD8JQE, for organizing BARC’s participation as liaison to the LMWN team.

There was also a festival following the race and BARC set up our information booth and tent to market our club and amateur radio. Many thanks again to Steve (KD8NUC) and Tink (KD8NUA) Siwecki for working the booth and being such great ambassadors for BARC!
