The BARC September Membership Meeting will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the old clubhouse for the final time. This meeting is a tailgate party and will start at
6:30pm. Social begins at 6pm.
All are welcome, but there will unfortunately be no Zoom for the meeting until we figure out how to do it at the new location.
1. Tailgate – hot dogs and water provided. Bring your own beverage (soda, coffee , etc). Bring your own chairs. Remember, all of our comfort/hospitality items have been moved to the new clubhouse so it’s important everyone come prepared.
2. Chili Cook-off – Bring your favorite homemade chili or you can bring a side to share. We have access to the clubhouse, so we can set up chili in the hallway.
3. Raffle – We have many great items for our raffle. A list of items will be emailed at the beginning of next week. Here is how it will work:
- Individual items will be displayed with a receptacle to place tickets.
- Tickets will be $2 each or 6 tickets for $10. Purchase as many as you wish (after all, the proceeds help the club!). You may add as many tickets on any item (or all items) as you wish. You keep one side of the two-part ticket and write your call sign or last name on the other half and place it in the receptacle next to the item you want to win. Cash and checks accepted. Donations are MUCH appreciated!
- Our president will be neutral in the raffle and will draw winning tickets at 7:15 to 7:30. Winners must be present to win (If you cannot attend, arrange with someone to enter the drawing on your behalf). We just need these items gone as soon as possible (especially by the end of September).
4. We will establish the nomination committee at the September meeting. We need to ask for three (3) volunteers to be on the nomination committee. A short meeting will occur starting at 6:30pm.
We’ll give the space a proper send-off with a tailgate party, food, and stories from over the years. There will also be equipment to
look through and if you see something you want, please consider donating to help offset our reloca-
tion costs. In addition, there will be a raffle, organized by Jim Gifford (N8KET) and Don Macon
(KE8WVJ). We are looking for equipment donations to build raffle baskets. Please contact Jim or Don
if you have a donation and need it picked up or drop it off in the bins at the old clubhouse. Buy as
many tickets as you like at the meeting for a chance to win. All proceeds go directly to BARC to help
with moving expenses.
The old clubhouse will also be open on several days this month for members to look through items
that are not being moved. Please consider rescuing some items from the bulldozers, and if you take
something, a donation toward our moving costs is greatly appreciated. The clubhouse will be open:
- Monday, September 8, 5:00–7:00 p.m.
- Thursday, September 11, 5:00–7:00 p.m.
- Sunday, September 14, 2:00–4:00 p.m.
- Thursday, September 18 – during the membership meeting
