We had a very fun and successful Fall Field Day up at Buck Creek State Park in Springfield last Saturday, September 9, 2023. It was a gorgeous day (a little cool early in the morning before the sun was higher) and we all enjoyed playing radio, fellowship, and of course the food! Many thanks to Don Macon, KE8WVJ, for acting as grillmaster and doing a spectacular job!
Also, thanks to Ray Hitt, N8VMX, and Tom McClory, KE8FWZ, for bringing the water and sodas as well as Jim Gifford, KD8APT, for providing a delicious breakfast of donuts and coffee (kept us warm in the morning).
Using the W8DGN callsign, we worked the Ohio State Parks on the Air contest all day. Together we made 68 contacts including 32 unique Ohio State Parks for a total score of 2176, just under our score from last year.
