As part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, BARC will be running a Special Event Station. The plan is to run two stations, one on 20 meters at 14.2740 MHz and another on 15 meters at 21.3740 MHz with both using the W8DGN callsign. The frequencies were chosen to end in 74, the year of our founding, and to be in the General portion of the bands to be available to as many hams as possible.
We will run the Special Event Stations during the Open House at the clubhouse from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm. To make things run smoothly and to make sure the operators get to enjoy the party, we need as many people as possible to work the stations. Please get in touch with John Westerkamp, W8LRJ, at w8lrj@arrl.net or in person if you would like to volunteer to operate the Special Event Station for about half an hour or an hour, depending on how many volunteers we get.

The Bellbrook Amateur Radio Club will be celebrating 50 years on the air this summer and we are having a big party at the clubhouse! Join us on Sunday, July 28, at 2 pm at the clubhouse. Here is a partial list of of events that day:
- Mobile Radio Drive-In: Bring your car and open the hood to show other hams how you did your mobile installation. It doesn’t have to be fancy, even just an HT connected to a mag-mount antenna would be cool. BARC members will be available to look at your car and provide ideas for your own mobile installation. Runs throughout the day starting at 2:00 pm. In-depth presentation about mobile radio installation at 3:00 pm.
- Trunkfest Swap Meet: Bring any radio equipment you would like to sell or browse what others have available for purchase. Set up in your car or bring a table.
- BARC Open House: We will open the clubhouse for tours and have the radios available to operate. Maybe even a Special Event Station in honor of our 50th Anniversary.
- Cookout: BARC will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks. Members are welcome to bring sides and desserts. The cookout will begin around 4:00 pm.
Watch the website and your email for more information as we get closer to the date. You can download the 50th Anniversary Bash brochure here.
