UPDATE: Tech Night for January

Location: BARC club House

!:00 – Pre-Meeting show accomplishments and technical questions.

              1:30 – Presentation: SB-101 project – Dan, N8IE

  • Dan will cover: safety, cleaning tips, basic troubleshooting and repair,
  • coupler that was 3D printed for Dan
  • demo how to tune vintage gear.
  • Bonus: Repairing a capacitor if demo is ready

2025 Meetings

We’re going to do as many Labs / hands on sessions as possible

  • Radio Orienteering (Fox and Hound)
    • Members do low-cost builds of all the components to hold an event for the club in the spring.  Date TBD
    • Testing and Practice session outdoors (TBD)
    • Part of June Field Day
  • NanoVNA hands on Lab (February?)
  • Kits (Similar sessions to clock kits)
    • Stu has a found a few to consider
      • Stu is building at least one of the possibilities
      • Bob F plan to build the 3rd kit Stu Picked out with Stu’s help
      • Date TBD
  • Build and test End Fed, Long Wire (random wire)
    • All participant s will build and antenna
    • High emphasis on 10 meter since licensed tech can use that band. Also it’s a excellent band to work in the current solar cycle.
    • Also a chance to use the skills learned from NanoVNA Lab
  • Prototype using a microprocessor
    • Hands on LAB
    • Date TBD

I recently received a few more clock kits. I will bring then to Thursday’s membership meeting.
