BARC will hold its 2025 Field Day in the clubhouse due to the weather situation this weekend!
The Bellbrook Amateur Radio Club (BARC) and its president, Geoff Kline, and the board and members cordially invite you to stop and visit us during our two-day, 24-hour, field day at Sackett Wright Park in Bellbrook. We will be set up in the shelter with four radio stations and antennas.
The purpose of Field Day is to simulate setting up communications in emergency conditions, using auxiliary power for the radios. Members will operate 24 straight hours on high frequencies, starting at 2pm on Saturday, June 28 and concluding at 2pm, Sunday, June 29. Yes, we will be there all night too. In 2024 members contacted at least one person in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and all Canadian provinces.
Please visit us for a couple minutes or for several hours, at your convenience. If you wish, we will assist you in using one of our radios too.
We enjoy meeting our local officials, and it would be an honor to have you visit. We also enjoy fellowship and eating, so we hold a picnic at 5:30 pm on Saturday. You are welcome to break bread with us and also enjoy some famous Dot’s chicken.
Since the heat index is approaching 100 degrees and there is a high risk of thunderstorms, we will conduct our Field Day in the BARC clubhouse, 51 South East Street, Bellbrook, lower level of the former school building.
We look forward to meeting you!
