The next POTA Adventure will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026. We will meet at the Waynesville McDonalds 355 S. Main St. at 7:30am. Glenn and I will have 3×5 cards with several POTA sites (with addresses, GPS, and special instructions) from which to choose. I personally will plan on a location where two or three of us can sit together and operate as multiple operators using the same transmitter. So, if you are new to POTA or do not have a radio, join me there. If there are more than a couple of you, then someone else will take a couple to area parks. If you have never participated in a POTA, no worries. All you have to know is your call sign.
Special note: If you have a Tech license, let us know so that we can put you with someone who can set up on 10m. But I have to warn you, 10m is dead right now.
We will have a couple locations where the Great Northern Trail crosses convenient places to set up.
As always, please send Glenn Rodgers AND Jim Gifford an email saying that you will attend–and let us know if you won’t be bringing a radio so that we can plan ahead. This helps us plan better, and it helps if we need to cancel for weather-related reasons. I CC’d both of us so you can obtain our email easily.
